It has been humbling.

Amazing.

Saw the doc this past Friday and don’t think every thing’s sunk in yet.

Not for me at least.

Its a “little peanut” the doc says.

The size of a little peanut was the point.

Right.

Was reading on www.pregnancy.org and it is just amazing the things that are already going on at this stage.

The baby’s gender and little organs are being formed.

Fearfully and wonderfully.

That little “flashing” white spot is the baby’s heart beat.

We saw that.

That was really cool.

Little one and Mel are on a trip to DC.

Say hi to the nation’s capital for me.

It has been humbling.

To see everyone rejoicing with us too.

Thank you.

Hi xiaobaby.

Fearfully and wonderfully.

This is very good.

Long week.

And so Friday’s good.

It had been rough for both Mel and I.

Work, can be rough.

My day ended better than how it started.

The week ended better than how it started too.

So Friday’s extra good.

Then again, can’t Friday be a state of mind.

Friday can be a state of mind.

That place you won’t mind going everyday.

That moment you won’t mind reliving.

That’s Friday.

5:40pm every evening at Ogilvy meeting up with Mel.

That’s a Friday.

Family reunions, Lunar New Year dinners & festivities.

Those are Fridays.

Friends chatting, connecting, re-connecting, living, sharing.

Fridays.

I love Fridays.

Always have and will.

For that I will not be unique.

As a child, it meant a reprieve from starched uniform for the next 2 days.

The best American sitcom will be on Channel 5 on TV at 7pm.

Sitting down with the family later in the evening.

Have a few more laughs with skits on 大家学华语 or “Everyday Mandarin” (translation: everyone learn mandarin).

Definitely a Friday.

A very Good Friday.

TGIF.

TGFF.

God knew what He was doing when he made Fridays.

That Fridays would be special, they would be Good.

The chief of all Fridays was Good.

And so it was.

On the Third day.

Thank God for Fridays.

Its Saturday.

Good night goodfriday.

This was supposed to have been posted 2 days ago.

So its a retro-sort of a thing.

Good news.

Great news, in fact.

So great is the good news we are retroactively joyful.

I’d say that this qualifies for proactive joy as well.

proactivelytickled.

In pink

Of course.

Unless its blue.

Just as tickled.

Who’s blessing America?

Last Friday was the 4th of July, so this was a nice long weekend.

It was a nice little break from work.

And of course everything that makes the 4th, the 4th.

Grilling out.

Fireworks.

The star spangled banner all around.

Its become somewhat of a tradition the last few years; but I broke out the old HRC (Hard Rock Cafe) t-shirt. Its my only shirt with an American flag on it.

Not an American, but I have come to appreciate this day even more since my dear wife is as American as the Indiana corn from her dad’s farm.

I also can’t help but be amazed at the overall prosperity and well being of this country these two hundred or so years.

I say that loosely; I am no expert or historian.

Maybe stability is a better word.

America’s been fairly stable.

Fairly safe.

That all 50 states are intact and united.

The United States, what a great name.

I am also thankful for all that I have been blessed with since coming here some 16 years ago.

My education.

My salvation.

My friends.

My church.

My job.

My green card.

and

My wife.

America is one of the most gracious countries I know/feel to its immigrants.

Legal or otherwise.

The only country I KNOW that would uphold its conviction to the freedom of the individual that they may march in her streets demanding for his/her/their rights all at the same time violating hers.

Amazing.

Years ago on my visit to Disneyland with mama we saw a show called “America the Beautiful”. It was one of those panoramic/audio/visual presentation of all the wonderful sights of the country.

Its left an indelible image/memory on us.

I know mama remembers that very fondly.

On that same trip, mama made a very cute/innocent observation.

That Americans loved drinking their Cokes with lots of ice.

Just like us.

We like our Cokes with lots of ice too.

Amazing.

Amazing that many people in this world hate America but yet many are so envious and many want to be here.

Most of them are the same people.

Amazing.

America’s a blessing to us.

America’s a blessing to the world.

God bless America.

It’s been a good month or so since I wrote.

Lotsa good came and went.

Was really busy at work and fell sick at a work trip about 4 weeks ago; not fun. Made the unpleasant flight from NYC to ORD even more so.

Spent the following 2 weeks trying to fully recover…be 100%.

Must be age.

Should have, would have bounced right back say a few years ago. I was reminiscing how Singapore doctors used to prescribe anti-biotics most every time we went when we were sick as kids.

American doctors just want you to get over it.

I had a real hard time getting to be 100%; was still coughing up to a few days ago.

Age. Anti-biotics. Poor Immunity.

All of that probably contributed to the nasty experience of a slow recovery?

Don’t, I ain’t no doctor.

I am happy to be well again.

That’s good.

To be able to enjoy health.

That’s good.

To be able to appreciate health.

That’s good.

Take care of the temple.
